Policy, Decoded uses AI tools in the production of every edition. This page states where they are used, what they are not used for, how facts are verified, and who is accountable for what is published. It is published voluntarily. No rule requires it.
This page covers Policy, Decoded, the daily briefing published by The Homegrown Consulting Group. It describes current practice. Editions published before October 2026 were produced under earlier practices and have not been retroactively annotated.
AI tools assist with the following:
Reviewing the day's source material
Producing first drafts of items
Drafting the subject line, preview text and audio script
Generating the illustration at the head of each edition
Narrating the audio version of each edition
All drafted material is rewritten and edited before publication. The audio narration uses a synthetic voice, which is not my voice, and is produced from a script I approve.
I select every story. AI tools do not determine what is covered.
The analysis is mine. Where an item states a view, that view originates with me and is recorded before any draft exists. Items on which I hold no view run as straight reporting.
AI tools are not a source. Every factual claim traces to the reporting or primary documents linked with the item.
No edition publishes without my review and edit.
Before each edition publishes, I check the following against the sources linked in that item:
Names
Numbers
Dates
Bill and docket numbers
Quotations
The daily subject line is a quotation and is verified verbatim before use.
This is the full extent of the commitment. Policy, Decoded does not represent that every sentence has been independently verified. Where a claim rests on a single outlet or on a source behind a paywall, it is attributed to that outlet or omitted.
Errors are corrected in the next edition with a statement of what was wrong. Corrections are not made silently.
Policy, Decoded does not publish the identity of the AI tools it uses, the order in which they are used, or the instructions given to them. That configuration is proprietary. What is disclosed above is the role AI plays in the product, which is what a reader needs in order to judge it.
